A fall into the void, some cries. Echoing in the dark, these are desperate times. No one is gonna liberate us. Liberate us. The world makes us sick and we’d rather burn it than change it. But trees never grow back after fire. Feeling like a dead weight I run away from liars and preachers. Trapped in between my own walls but I know I’m better than this. As far as I can see, greed took control. Swarm of locust eating pills. Medias pressuring me. Plastic oceans, toxic waste, arctic melts. Years passed and we're stuck on the same drifting boat. Feeling like a dead weight I run away from liars and preachers. Trapped in between my own walls but I know I’m better than this. Another storm or another battle? I've been exhausted, exhausted for too long. Now. When you won't die, you have to resign yourself to live.

I generally appreciate the album by album move away from hardcore towards extreme metal. Yet for me personally, this is where the balance is perfect. Kind of like Metallica's Ride the Lightning: subsequent albums were more sophisticated and complex, yet less intense, too. Great to come back to, again and again.

This album hits like a ton of bricks. I can't say how long it's been since a band reached me like this, but I can't get enough. The driving rhythm, the ghostly floating leads, the haunting and direct lyrics, the desperation in her voice... Powerful.
